Do you want to know how much sleep you’re getting? There’s an app for that!
Although how long a person sleeps is subjective, the National Institutes of Health recommends that the average adult should get 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep per night. So why is this important? It’s because sleep is essential to form memories, proper brain function, and our overall well-being.
But more often than not, many of us struggle to get a good night’s sleep. So, it’s no wonder that an app like Sleepbot was made to measure how much sleep you’re getting and so much more. Before we get any further, you’ll be happy to know that this app is available to download for iOS and Android for FREE! Who doesn’t love free stuff? Yes! Good times.Overview
I’ve personally tried Sleepbot and I must say that I love how easy it is to use. The app’s user interface is pretty straightforward. It has three primary functions:
You can use it as a smart alarm – for example, you set the alarm at 6:00 a.m., the Sleepbot will set it off 30 minutes before your set alarm time. The idea for this is to wake you up during the non-REM or light sleep phase because you’ll feel less tired
You can use it to track your movements – the app will keep track of how much you’re moving during sleep. Then the app will display it on a graph, along with how deep or light your sleep was.
You can use it to record sounds – for this feature, Sleepbot will record any sound you make like snoring or sleep-talking, as well as other ambient noises and bumps in your bedroom. This way, you’ll have a clear glimpse of how much nighttime disturbances you’re experiencing.
You have the option to run one, two or all of these features in Sleepbot, depending on your sleep needs. I personally find the sound and motion-tracking very useful because I can determine how much noise or movement is affecting the quality of my sleep.
And if you’re quite fond of data, you can check out trend graphs that can go as far back as six months. The app will provide information regarding your sleep times, wake times, sleep duration and patterns. One particular feature that I really like about Sleepbot is its resources section. You can learn lots of useful information about sleep debt, sleep hygiene, sleep disorders, and many others. There’s also a quick guide when you need help to fall asleep or stay awake.
So if you want to track how much sleep you’re getting and how much sleep debt you’ve accumulated, I recommend this nifty app. Of course, monitoring the quality of your sleep is just the first step. You should also consider having the best gel memory foam mattress to help you get the most restful sleep ever.
